CONGRATULATIONS to the Philippine participants of Earth Hour 2011!!!

On the night of March 26, IRI and millions of people around the world joined the celebration of Earth Hour.

Just like the preceding Earth Hour celebrations, people around the globe-regardless of race, religion and age, united to show their support in increasing the awareness about the harmful effects of global warming. Each  country that participated in the event had their own unique way of celebrating Earth Hour 2011.

Based on the reports, Earth Hour Philippines 2011 was the biggest in attendance with 15million Filipinos  in 1,554 towns, cities and municipalities who joined the rest of the world in taking a stand against climate change. A record  131 countries and territories took part in this year’s Earth Hour. Different organizations and companies also joined millions of people across the globe to go beyond the hour. With the success of Earth Hour 2011, IRI believes that this is the beginning of more participation from all sectors of society. We should not just support the Earth Hour once a year,  but by continuously contributing our share by doing simple things that lessen our carbon footprint to slow down global warming.

With Earth Hour 2011 already done, let us continue fighting climate change and global warming. Together all our actions will contribute to a better world.
