INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL MANILA VISITS IRI

As part of IRI's contribution to spreading community awareness on environmental conservation, students, parents, and teachers from the International School - Manila, headed by Mr. Eric Bird, were welcomed to its facility last February 18, 2008. Twenty one (21) Grade Five students were toured around the plant wherein they learned the different e-waste recycling processes used by the company.

A presentation was made on the growing problem of e-wastes because of rapid technological advancements. Some data were presented to show the magnitude of the e-waste disposal problem. The students were also given a demonstration on PC dismantling and the different fractions of metals and plastics which can be recovered from the process were explained to them.

IRI believes that the most effective way to convince parents to practice proper disposal and segregation of wastes is through their children.
