IRI SPONSORS FORUM ENTITLED “INDUSTRY – DENR PARTNERSHIP FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

The Integrated Recycling Industries Phils., Inc. in cooperation with the Environmental Management Bureau – CALABARZON successfully conducted a forum entitled “Industry – DENR Partnership for Sustainable Development” held last March 21, 2007, 1-5pm at the Function Room of the Bayview Park Hotel Manila.

The objective of the forum was to introduce the new set of EMB Region IV-A officers and likewise facilitate a free-flowing discussion on valid and pressing environmental issues, particularly, the ones faced today by the semiconductor and electronics industry. Dir. Allan L. Leuterio, newly appointed DENR-EMB IV-A Regional Director, was the keynote speaker for this worthwhile event.

Engr. Vivian Cerrer of the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA)
–  PEZA programs on Environmental Protection and Conservation

Mr. John Alindao of Intel Technology Philippines, Inc.,
Mr. Roy Alminanza of Analog Devices
- Company’s best practices in conserving the environment

Mr. Edwin Concepcion. OIC, Pollution Control Division. DENR-EMB IV-A
- Challenges/Problems encountered in regulating semiconductor and electronics industries

Overall, the forum was very informative and the various concerns and environmental issues that industries face today were aired-out and were discussed in the open forum by the participants.
