IRI Celebrates "CUSTOMERS NIGHT"

In celebration of IRI's fifth year of commercial operations, the company celebrated its "CUSTOMERS' NIGHT" last December 8, 2006 at the 20/20 Bar of The Bellevue Manila. The celebration was to express the company's gratitude and appreciation for the support from its customers over the years. The event aimed to promote stronger ties with the company's customers and also served as a thanksgiving party for its business partners and friends. As a welcome note, IRI President, Dato Eng Hoe Goh informed the guests of the two prestigious awards the company received this year, particularly the awards given by Frost-Sullivan Industrial Technologies, wherein IRI was honored for its Market Leadership in the Solid Waste Recycling Market (Southeast Asia and Australia) and the Trade Leaders' Club's International Award for Excellence in Products and Services.

Likewise, the yearly "love-giving" of the company to Bahay Ni Maria, an orphanage located at Calamba, Laguna was incorporated in the event's program. Rev. Mother Maria Concepcion R. Realon, MSOLF. received a check amounting to P50,000, which will be used to support the needs of the orphans and elderly folks which are being cared for by the institution. IRI has been supporting Bahay ni Maria for the past 5 years. In addition to this, a fund-raising activity was done during the event for the benefit of the victims of the recent typhoon "Reming". A total of P40,000 plus a sack of rice was raised for this cause which will be turned over to a non-governmental organization to support the typhoon victims .

Various awards were also presented to IRI's outstanding partners throughout the program. The awards were given to customers and individuals who showed outstanding processes and commitment to the environment. The awardees were chosen based on a set of criteria that IRI deemed as important to contribute towards sustainable development.  The awardees were as follows:

• Outstanding Scrap Procedure :  AMKOR Technology Philippines, Inc.
• Outstanding Security Program :  NXP Semiconductors Philippines
• Company with the lowest percentage of waste disposed to land fill  :   Toshiba Information Equipment Philippines, Inc.
• Outstanding Waste Segregation Program :  Shindengen Philippines Corporation
• Outstanding Pollution Control Officers  :  Robinson Guttierez (Samsung Electronics Philippines) and Elizabeth Beronio (NXP Semiconductors Philippines)
• Award of Recognition : AMKOR Technology Philippines, Inc.
