IRI Co-Sponsors AWMA Technical Forum

IRI Philippines co-sponsored the Technical-Forum Workshop initiated by the Air and Waste Management Association - Philippine Section (AWMA-PS). The Forum Workshop aimed to provide a vehicle for candid and transparent discussions of issues related to the enforcement of RA 6969 and its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR), particularly for the electronics and semiconductor industry.

Ms. Lilibeth Candolita of EMB Region IV provided the overview of the implementation of RA 6969 and its IRR. Ms. Florence Galindo of Intel Technology Phils., Inc., representing the Semiconductor and Electronics Industry discussed the issues and current realities facing the industry with regards to waste management and disposal.

Former EMB Regional Director Luciano Hornilla carried out the forum, which focused on concerns and issues both from the Industry and from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

The output of the forum workshop were actions with timelines and the responsible party who will complete those identified actions. These outputs shall be submitted to the DENR Secretary for actions.
